Ivan IvanovDuring the time of 1812 - 1814 something like two hundred caricature sheets of Napoleon and his army were created in Russia. The following artists depicted the Russian peasant in a brave and noble manor for the first time in Russian art history. As a result the peasant became a subject worthy of artistic expression.
