As a United States citizen, you are not required to have
a passport for travel into Jamaica. A valid driver's license and
birth certificate, however, are musts for entry into the country.
Keep in mind though, having a passport will speed you through Immigration
upon your return into the United States!
MONEY EXCHANGE
While in Jamaica, it is not legal to use any currency other
than the Jamaican Dollar (pronounced "jay"). The current exchange
rate is about J$38.00 to $1.00 U.S. This exchange works in your favor.
Be sure to exchange at least $100.00 U.S. per person at the Montego Bay
airport. There are banks in both Treasure Beach and Discovery Bay.
Remember, when tipping, one Jamaican Dollar is worth only about 2.5 cents
