Napoleon's Russian Campaign 1812-1813

Napoleon's March to Moscow

The following links provide the reader with a more personal viewpoint of Napoleon's march to Moscow in 1812. By clicking on the name of the city on the map the reader will be taken to a brief synopsis of events that occurred at that site and/or quotations from Armand-Augustin-Louis, Marquis de Caulaincourt's "With Napoleon in Russia: The Extraordinary Memoirs of General De Caulaincourt Aide and Confident to the Emperor." A text version of the march through Russia is also provided directly below. Caulaincourt's personal record provides an extremely powerful account of Napoleon's disasterous Russian efforts.
