Scenario Instructions
for Amber Schorzman's UTCAT Site
Search One:

Start Here at the main UTCAT page or link from
my index page.

Let's do a quick search because I know you're probably in a hurry
to get going. Type in desire provoked and
click on the search1 link.

Click on 2. and Voila!
-
Click on the author's name, Daugherty, Tracy,
to view his profile.
-
Click on the bottom menu bar to go to a New In Depth
Search.
Search Two:
-
I know you are excited about the searching possibilities now. Click on
the In Depth Search link.
-
Down on the bottom of the page, click on Browse Search
Example and soak in the great example.

Isn't that nice? Go back, and then click on
Keyword Search Example
and soak again.
-
But wait, there's more! Click on the Library
& Type link to see how easily you can
narrow your search.
-
Click on the bottom menu bar to go back to the UTCAT
main page.
Search Three:
-
Let's do another quick search. Type in hannibal
and click on the search2
link.
-
There are too many hits for this one, so click on
refine search.
-
Enter biography
in the Subject field
and PCL IN BOOK
in the Library & Style field
to be sure and get hits for items in PCL, not checked out, and only books.
Click on the search3
link.

Sort the results by
Author.
-
Number one looks good. Click on
1.
Search Four:
-
Let's try an advanced search about a book you heard
about, but can't remember many details. Click on the bottom menu bar to
go to the In Depth Search
page.
-
Enter carl
in the Author field,
SOFT in the Library
& Type field, and Abraham
Lincoln in the Subject
field, then click on the search4
link.
-
Wow! Thanks to a great search interface and limiters,
you found it really easily without tons of extra hits. Click on 2.
to view the book entry.

Now that you have the particular book you were looking
for, click on the subject link, Abraham Lincoln,
to find more subject areas.
