Nancy York is a new singer on the scene. She is blessed with a voice of laser precision and a pure tone. Her recording seem to indicate her leanings are toward pyrotechic jazz and her voice seems well equipped to handle them. It would be interesting to hear her versions of jazz ballads with less orchestrations than in her current release. As an older generation of jazz singers leaves us it is nice to know that singers of Nancy York's caliber are taking their place. --Ismael Rangel
