Carmen Bradford is a one of the new class of singers who is tackling the jazz and big band sounds. Her background is includes an impressive stint with the Count Basie Orchestra. She follows in the footsteps of such luminaries as Helen Humes, Jimmy Reed and Joe Williams. Her voice was made for big band orchestrations and like the artists preceding her in this venue, she can handle a ballad like the best of them. There are currently two of her recordings available and are worthy of a listen.
