Blessed with a terrific voice Ann Hampton Callaway sings standards and ballads as good as anyone. Her voice is flexible, precise and clear. Her first few albums sound more cabaret singing and swing enough to be called jazz. The last one entitled "To Ella with Love", is purely jazz. Her voice is tested and passes with flying colors. Her tribute album came a few months after the death of Ella Fitzgerald and is a worthy tribute. Ms. Callaway is one of the standard bearers for the art of fine singing.
