Nancy Wilson

Nancy Wilson is continually called a jazz singer but in reality most of her work has been in the pop/R&B field. Never much of an improviser and overly mannered by her later years, Wilson's most valuable work can be found in early recordings with George Shearing and Cannonball Adderley (the latter is a classic). However very little of her post-1962 work can be considered relevant to jazz. ~ Scott Yanow
