Ethel Ennis can be heard on some Benny Goodman recordings and her sound is unmistakable. Her voice is distinctive in tone but can swing with the best. She can execute a ballad with heartbreaking emotion or a gospel tinged song with enough spirit to fill any congregation. Luckily, she is recording again and her voice has lost none of its luster.
